Is your favourite lure stuck on the bottom of the river? Well, now you can get
it back.
The Mentor / Do-Re-Tro. lure retriever snaps over your fishing line, slides down
to the lure , and the cord attached to it is pulled. almost by magic, your lure
rises from the deep to catch another fish.
The secret of this new device is very simple. Once the MENTOR / DO-RE-TRO makes
contact, the safety catch slips over the lure's split ring, snap swivel or Crane
swivel, locking it to the retriever. The cord is stout enough to rip hooks through
vegatative matter or pull them off rocks.
In these days of rising prices, it's good to know you stand a better chance at
retrieving lures than tugging on a mainline hoping it won't break. The device
works best when the rod tip is directly above or at a steep angle to the lure
and the lure is connected to a split ring or swivel before the mianline. Try
to position yourself upstream from the lure before sending the retriever down
the line.
